E.J. Taylor is a writer from the north of England, who studied English Literature at the University of Cambridge. Prior to writing fulltime, she spent a decade working as an English teacher. She edited the school newspaper and encouraged many young people to follow their literary dreams.

Her short stories The Slumbering Dragon and From the Ashes were both prize winners in 2023, with the latter receiving publication in Microbes to the Rescue! She loves many genres of fiction and has a particular affection for Shakespeare. Every year, she pilgrimages to the Globe in London, and she hopes to one day see every play live.
