Fiona grew up on the Isle of Wight. Her desire to travel took her into English language teaching and she spent a number of years travelling and teaching in Portugal, Spain, Mexico and Ecuador before coming back to lead multi-cultural EFL classes in London. Fiona has always enjoyed designing her own materials and so ELT publishing was a natural next step and she has been content editor and author on many projects for young learners and adults, including co-authoring Active Grammar (Cambridge University Press), Share It! (Macmillan), Do You Know? (Ladybird readers) and being series editor for the Scholastic Popcorn Readers series.

Fiona lives in Suffolk with her son, Ollie. Being outdoors is part of her DNA and she is a keen member of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, which protects and restores local nature. When she has a free moment, you will find her gazing out to sea or walking along the river Deben with her son, seeing how many different species of birds or bugs they can spot! She is also a member of the Oak Tree Community Farm, which means she gets a box of fresh veggies every week in return for some hours spent working with other members on the organic vegetable farm. Fiona recently took a course in printmaking which changed her perspective on many things and she is always looking for shapes and colours in nature that will look good on her next print. She also loves her Pilates class and playing tennis (but only for fun).

Fiona is a natural teacher who believes reading can change your life. She is a passionate advocate for neurodiversity and is currently creating materials for neurodiverse learners.
