Sylvia Bishop is the author of nine books, which have been translated into 15 languages. She specialises in humorous stories with heart, and draws on her background in improvised comedy in everything she writes.

When she is not writing books or reading books, Sylvia still performs comedy, and also likes to play tuba, drink tea and take naps. She lives in Bristol with three friends, a cat overlord and a worrying number of plants.
